About DigiBriefs

Origins
DigiBriefs is an independent publication launched in April 2026 by Boomerang Training.
It evolved from digital literacy workshops facilitated under a federal government contract (SEE program) to increase the literacy of adult First Nations Australians, with a focus on reading and digital skills.
Our problem
This was two-fold:
- Mobile devices are the norm. Not print. Not laptops. Over 60% of internet access is via a mobile device.
- Traditional training methodologies were not designed with mobile in mind, so they did not address the reality of online text.
What we learned from working with adult participants:
- Online 'reading' is the norm.
- Nobody 'reads' online in the traditional sense.
- The viewer must actively engage with digital text to make sense of it.
- Much digital text is not designed for online viewing.
Solution
Design differently. Deliver differently.
The Digibriefs publication is part of this evolution.
